CORPORATE PROJECTS

Before launching Gartin, designer Emily Moenning worked for seven years in the fashion industry. Here are a couple hi-lights from her time working for some of the biggest names in fashion and retail.

1) CURIOUS:

Our personal interdisciplinary material exploration leads to richer and more meaningful design solutions for YOU.

During the Sanctuaire branding project, I created several Lino-cut stamps to develop a logo that had more soul and feeling before I brought it into Illustrator to continue to develop it into a piece that could be easily printed and used across platforms.

2) LOGICAL:

We use fundamental principles of design to create a consistent logic to inform the worlds we create and the stories we tell.

Emily is very systems/mathematically minded so she effortlessly creates design systems that translate across product categories and media.

3) CRAFT-BASED:

We value craftsmanship and analog styles of making.

We approach software and manufacturing from the perspective of “how does this work at a fundamental level and how can I manipulate it to do what I want?”

Emily began her career as a weaver/dyer before transitioning into the digital world. Working in physical mediums based on manipulating materials and chemistry where it not only takes design decisions but technical skill to create a result informs the way we work as digital and graphic designers.

We take great pride in our attention to detail and technical consideration whether we are adjusting the formula of a dye bath to achieve the perfect color, or making sure our vector images have no unnecessary points or overlapping paths.
